We are excited to share the fantastic news in our Masters Swimming NSW News that our Head Coach, Sue Keey, has been honored as the 2025 Masters Swimming NSW Coach of the Year! Sue received this prestigious award alongside Greg Moelle from the Gosford Seagulls Swimming Club, with the announcement made at the MSNSW State Presentation Dinner in April 2026. This remarkable achievement is well deserved for Sue, who has dedicated nearly 10 years to our swimming club, tirelessly writing programs, mentoring, and coaching our team. There isn't enough room in this post to sing Sue's praises. Congratulations, Sue! We greatly appreciate everything you do for our club and team, contributing to our swimming club achievements.

Our swimming club celebrated a significant achievement on 25 November 2025, as we welcomed an additional Masters Swimming Coach, Helen Gill, who successfully passed her final coaching assessment. Helen was proudly presented with a Coach hat by Sue, symbolizing her dedication and hard work. With her rapid training progression, Helen will undoubtedly be a fantastic asset to our coaching team. We also look forward to sharing her impact on our competition results in future Masters Swimming NSW news. Well done, Helen, and welcome aboard!

A team of 17 Stingrays proudly showcased their skills at the Australian Masters Games held at the AIS in Canberra on 24 & 25 October 2025, bringing home an impressive total of 78 medals! This remarkable performance reflects our competition results and highlights the dedication of our swimming club achievements.

A huge thank you to Coach Sue, whose unwavering dedication over several months prepared us expertly for this racing event. This was the first competition for many of our swimmers, and it was inspiring to see all of them earn medals while breaking a total of 63 personal bests.
We extend our gratitude to all the volunteers, the Australian Masters Games organizers, and Swimming ACT & Masters Swimming NSW for their hard work in hosting and organizing this outstanding event.

It was a fantastic weekend for Gail, Patrick, and Ailie as they competed in the Masters Swimming NSW State Short Course Championships at Woy Woy. Their impressive competition results include numerous personal bests and medals, showcasing the achievements of our swimming club. They are already looking forward to the excitement of the Australian Masters Games in Canberra in two weeks.
Gail took home 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal, while Patrick earned a well-deserved bronze. Ailie achieved a silver and 2 bronze medals, contributing to the overall success reflected in the latest Masters Swimming NSW news.

We had a fantastic weekend of swimming at our home pool in Pambula, hosting a stroke workshop as part of the latest Masters Swimming NSW News, led by the Masters Swimming NSW Coaching Team on Saturday, 26 July. This was followed by 'Have a Go' (HAG) racing on Sunday, 27 July, where we celebrated our Swimming Club Achievements. A total of 23 swimmers attended the workshop, and they were divided into three groups to work on form strokes, filming, and freestyle simultaneously. Each swimmer selected their preferred strokes for filming, which we reviewed collectively afterward.
A huge thank you to the coaching team for traveling to Pambula and dedicating their time to coach us. We really appreciate your hard work and commitment to developing Masters Swimmers. We hope you also enjoyed your stay on the beautiful Sapphire Coast.

Well done to our Stingray's Chris & Dru for their impressive performance in the competition results, finishing 1st & 2nd in both the 200m Splash and Dash and the 1.2km Jetty to Jetty Lake Swim at the WintersSun Festival in Merimbula. It was a beautiful sunny morning at Mitchie's Jetty with a crisp 15 degree water temperature, showcasing yet another highlight in the Masters Swimming NSW News and celebrating the achievements of our swimming club.

Wendy Thoms has successfully completed her coaching course and is now a qualified coach for our team, contributing to our ongoing Swimming Club achievements! She finished the theory modules, completed 30 hours of supervised coaching, and excelled in a practical assessment by coaching the whole squad independently. As recognition for her hard work, Wendy was awarded a well-deserved club coach cap. Congratulations, Wendy, and welcome to the coaching team! Gail, Donna & Ailie showcased their skills at the Masters NSW State Long Course Championships held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on 29th & 30th March 2025. This event served as an excellent platform to implement all our training from the past 3 months and provided a strong warm-up for the upcoming Nationals in Melbourne, which begins on 8th April 2025. In terms of competition results, Gail earned bronze medals in the 50m breaststroke, 100m, and 200m freestyle, while Donna excelled by winning a gold medal in the 50m butterfly. These significant swimming club achievements highlight the dedication and hard work put forth by our team.

Our swimming club achieved a significant milestone by acquiring 4 digital lane timing devices over the Christmas break to enhance our training sessions. With each of our 4 squad lanes now equipped with a dedicated clock at the end of the pool, it will be much easier to track the time during practices. These advanced clocks come with multiple functions that Sue is currently exploring. A heartfelt thanks goes to our generous sponsor, Lucerne Investment Partners, for their wonderful donation that made this purchase possible. We also appreciate our team member, Jenny, who coordinated the purchase of the clocks while she was overseas and ensured their safe delivery to us. The Stingrays' final swim of 2024 took place at Pambula pool on Sunday, 22 December, marking a memorable day filled with family fun. Members, along with their family and friends, participated in a series of entertaining events organized by Head Coach Sue Keey. Races included straight freestyle relays, noodle races, old English backstroke, and top'n'tail, showcasing our Swimming Club achievements throughout the year. Our superstar Gail Milroy medalled in all 5 of her individual events in the 70-74 age group. Gail joined our swimming club a year ago, and there is truly no stopping her. She attends every training session, trains hard, and her dedication has led to these incredible achievements.
A huge thank you to Masters Swimming NSW and all the volunteers for organizing another brilliant event. Also, we owe a big thank you to our wonderful coach Sue for her hard work in coaching our team and putting on extra sessions to ensure we were well-prepared and ready to race.








A fun-filled morning on Sunday, 17 December 2023, at the Stingray's Christmas Family HAG Novelty Event showcased some exciting competition results that highlighted our Masters Swimming NSW news and the achievements of our swimming club.
There was plenty of fun, laughter, and some serious competitions, proving that competitiveness knows no age limits—some participants even swam against their children and grandchildren!
A total of 20 swimmers joined in, with the youngest participant being just 9 years old and the oldest an impressive 76.
The events included:
Top and tails 50M, 4x 25M team relay, men's and women's open one-lap dash, noodle race, old English backstroke lap, and the girls' handicap dash.
Handicapping was part of the excitement, with each swimmer selecting their own handicap by drawing a lolly stick from the bag. Times were then adjusted according to the handicap noted on the stick, such as a 2-second deduction.
In the spirit of competition and fun, everyone walked away with a prize or three, along with sweet treats for all!

The winning family team "3 plus 1," comprised of grandmother Pat, her son Andrew, and her grandchildren Tegwyn and Freya, proudly donned their Christmas rashies. Congratulations to them on their victory in the latest event of the Masters Swimming NSW news!

Stingray swimmers Pat, Donna, Lisa, and Ailie showcased their skills at the Masters Swimming NSW Relay Meet held at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on 9/07/23. This marked the first major Masters swimming event for Donna, Lisa, and Ailie. Competing in the women's 200-239 age category, they participated in the 4x25m freestyle relay, 4x50m freestyle relay, 4x25m IM relay, and 4x50m IM relay. Their hard work paid off, as they proudly achieved a 3rd place finish in the 4x50m IM relay, along with personal bests in all events entered.
